Mia

Mia,
A cat from distant woods,
Made it to live amongst men.

From wars, flood and typhoons,
Man was a hero, right sir?
She convinced.

Mia,
Who wanted to live amongst heroes,
Real valiants,
Who’d escape any tiger’s paw,
A conspiring jackal
And all, but a betraying love?

She lived with us
Till her fur gone grey.
Till we left the village,
In turmoil, a rabid dog made!

Cat on the sunshade

It played with sunshine
On the green walls,
Where moss‘s velvet shimmered
Like emeralds.
Tumbled on boulders,
Yet feisty all the more,
Above the overlooked,
Across the insipid times.

It was a game of hide-and-seek,
Of a hidden cat,
Of a puzzled sun,
A mesmerizing treasure,
A bewildered hunter.
We clapped our hands,
We lured with fish,
It didn’t cease the game
And game was to go on.

Eventide scene

The orange fire set in the cavernous blue
and cormorants flew back to mangroves in quiet,
Star-gazers squeaked in mud,
And often, deep breathing mud sent bubbles
That wandered the silent face of wetland
Like peripatetic venders take in early sunrise streets.
In the slowly settling city,
An intense chant from a vivacious cloud,
Fell upon the baked sands
Gently touching the leaves of meadow
Bounced playfully on the night blossoms,
Tenderly on the ruby cheeks of eve
That left amused, on the ecstasy of living.
